Manmeet has two decades of experience and has expertise in handling complex and high value commercial litigation, domestic and international arbitrations and insolvency matters.

Manmeet has represented a diverse portfolio of international and domestic clients, including prominent financial institutions, foreign private equity firms, strategic investors, and major Indian conglomerates, in high-stakes strategic litigation and arbitration. Renowned for his strategic insights on matters, he specializes in advising clients on complex investment and regulatory disputes and disputes across the infrastructure, energy, construction, industrial and technology sectors. Manmeet also has extensive experience assisting banks and financial institutions with insolvency matters.

Relevant Experience:

Representing a leading Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) in cross-petitions for setting aside arbitral award under Section 34 of the Arbitration Act before the Delhi High Court.
Representing a power project developer in an arbitration matter against the contractor.
Representing the consortium of banks having exposure to Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited, an SPV promoted by ADAG, in respect of proceedings initiated by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation pursuant to the curative judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court.

Representative Experience of the Partner before he joined the Firm

Represented a leading finance and investment services company in India in an emergency SIAC arbitration opposite Credit Opportunities III Pte Ltd, in a dispute arising out of investment by the parties in a SEBI regulated Alternate Investment Fund.
Represented a Carlyle investee company in proceedings under Sections 9 and 37 of the Arbitration Act in Hyderabad in respect of a dispute concerning the share purchase agreement entered into for downstream investments.
Represented a project manager in arbitration proceedings opposite Indian Oil Corporation Limited.
Advised a leading NBFC in connection with investigations by SFIO, Central Bureau of Investigation and ED.
Represented Bank of India (on behalf of a consortium of 26 lenders) before the Mumbai bench of NCLT in seeking the initiation of insolvency proceedings in respect of Future Retail Limited.
Represented the resolution professional in the insolvency resolution process of Bhushan Steel Limited, the single largest non-performing loan account of Indian banks (approx. USD 8 billion) before the NCLAT and NCLT.
