He is qualified to practice both Indian and English law and has worked on a very wide range of banking and finance transactions across various jurisdictions. Pranav worked for over 6 years in the Banking group at Linklaters LLP and was based in London. He has advised banks and financial institutions, multilateral agencies, governmental agencies and state owned enterprises and leading companies across a vast spectrum of financings – both in India and abroad.

Pranav has in-depth experience in banking and finance transactions ranging from commodity or receivables backed financings, ECA backed financings, acquisition financings and structured and trade finance transactions besides advising banks on regulatory matters. At Linklaters LLP, his practice focused on financing transactions in emerging markets – covering Eastern Europe, Russia, Turkey, Africa and India. His experience also includes debt restructurings, leveraged finance and tax-based structured finance.

He has acted for lenders (both domestic and foreign) as well as the sponsors and the project company on project financings for several successfully concluded and on-going projects in the roads and highways, power, telecommunications, hotel and steel sectors in India.

Pranav has extensive experience in international as well as domestic debt offerings by Indian companies – both public as well as privately placed issuances, and restructurings of such issuances. Besides routinely advising on several issuances of Rupee denominated bonds, he has acted for the lead manager(s) or the issuer company in several offerings of foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCBs) and global depositary receipts (GDRs).

    • First ever issuance of listed debt securities by the first REIT in India – issue of listed debentures by Embassy Office Parks REIT.
    • The financing and other banking related aspects for the acquisition of One BKC project by Blackstone.
    • First ever margin loan backed by units of a REIT in India – offshore financing raised by certain Blackstone entities that are part of the sponsor group of Embassy Office Parks REIT.
    • Several inventory backed and receivables backed financings for KKR RE NBFC.
    • Regularly act for both ADB and IFC for their debt investments in India.
