He has acted on a number of landmark transactions, including advising the Indian lenders on the restructuring of the Dabhol Power Project and advising the syndicate of lenders including State Bank of India, International Finance Corporation, Development Bank and other national and international financial agencies in the 4000 MW Mundra Ultra-mega Power Project which is the first project to be financed by offshore lenders post Dabhol. He has also advised the Adani Group in relation to their Carmicheal Coal (Mine, Rail and Port) project in Queensland, Australia and also on several renewable projects. He has also recently advised on various trade finance transactions including on the underlying documents.

Professional Experience

  • Industrial Development Bank of India Limited (IDBI), ICICI Bank Limited (ICICI Bank) State Bank of India (SBI), Canara Bank and IFCI Limited (IFCI) in relation to the Dabhol Power Project (2184 MW combined cycle power plant and LNG facility) on the restructuring of the power plant and the LNG terminal.
  • International Finance Corporation (IFC) in relation to financing on various projects.
  • IFC, SBI, Asian Development Bank and other national and international financial banks/ agencies in the 4000 MW Mundra Ultra-mega Power Project established by established by Coastal Gujarat Power Limited, a subsidiary of the Tata Power Company.
  • International Legal Counsel for a consortium of lenders including IFC for setting up of a power project by Regent Energy in Bangladesh.
  • Asian Development Bank in relation to financing on various projects in India.
