Vanya Singh is a Partner in Disputes Practice focusing on securities law and regulatory issues. She has over 18 years of experience in securities and capital markets law and regulation with SEBI.

She has worked across the quasi-judicial, policy, legal affairs and enforcement departments. She has also aided the Investigations Department of SEBI with legal inputs and advice during live investigations.

Experience listed below are that of the Partner before she joined the Firm

Legal Affairs Department (Regulatory Assistance and Policy) – advisory for various Operational Departments of SEBI such as CFD, MRD, MIRSD, IVD, and IMD on matters pertaining to listing, delisting, disclosure requirements, takeovers, fraud, insider trading. Policy work including drafting of Regulations, and handling of non-enforcement litigation.
Enforcement Department – handled litigation related to enforcement of SEBI orders before SAT and courts.
Office of the Whole Time Member and Enquiry and Adjudication Department – handled all quasi-judicial processes ranging from issuance of show-cause notices to hearings, inspections, cross-examination and reasoned orders with monetary and non-monetary implication.
Office of Executive Director (Investigations Department) – In-house lawyer to 22 teams in the Investigations Department, aiding legally sustainable investigation in various matters under the SEBI (PFUTP) Regulations, PIT Regulations, FPI Regulations, MF Regulations, Broker Regulations, IA/RA Regulations, and various SEBI Circulars. Aiding evidence-gathering, assessment of evidence, crystallization of charges, legal inputs on whether a case in made out or not, legal finalization of investigation reports and show cause notices, conduct of cross-examination, communications with other regulators, inputs regarding settlement of matters, etc.
