He has also been involved in some of the largest debt resolution processes in the country, such as the IL&FS group resolution (the first group insolvency resolution in India), acquisition of Reliance Capital (the first NBFC-CIC to be resolved under the IBC) and implementation of the resolution plan for Dewan Housing Finance Limited (the first financial service provider to be resolved under the IBC).

Relevant Experience:

  • Advising the government appointed board of directors of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services on the first of its kind ‘group resolution’ of the IL&FS Group under the Companies Act, 2013.
  • Advised IndusInd International Holdings Limited in the implementation of its resolution plan for Reliance Capital Limited, under the IBC.
  • Advised Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited in relation to a syndicated INR 2500 crore acquisition financing facility provided to Matrix Pharmacorp Private Limited, for the acquisition of Tianish Laboratories Private Limited.
  • Advised Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited and Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited in relation to a syndicated INR 1300 crore facility for refinancing the existing debt of RattanIndia Power Limited.
  • Advised Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited in relation to their bridge to IPO debt and equity investment in Neuberg Diagnostics Private Limited.
  • Advising Ascertis Private Credit, in relation to their investment (by way of subscription to non-convertible debentures) in WeWork India.
  • Advised Cerberus Capital Management, in relation to their investment (by way of subscription to non-convertible debentures) in Barque Hotels Private Limited and SAMHI JV Business Hotels Private Limited.
  • Advised JP Morgan on the back leverage facility provided by JP Morgan to Cerberus Capital Management for the purposes of investing in certain non-convertible debentures issued by an entity in the Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
